My name is Josh Beauduy. Welcome to the first entry of my blog. I am a freshman at Purdue Northwest. I am studying communications with a concentration on broadcasting. I am also an intern at WJOB in Hammond, Indiana.
I am very blessed and thankful for the opportunity to learn from the great people who work here. WJOB sports director Ryan Walsh, who brought me in for the internship, has taken me to games where and has brought me in to assist with the morning show. Sam Michel and Ben Wood, two Highland guys like me, give me insight on how to work in the field. Since I’m the intern, they often crack jokes at my expense. I also work with other interns who attend PNW. That’s Sonny Santana, Rob Aguirre and Comron Fouladi. Jim Dedelow is the owner here. He prompted me to write this blog. I like working here with everyone except producer Jimmy Mullaney, who is a Bishop Noll grad who loves Notre Dame too much.
Tonight, I am once again the studio host. I’m here putting on the high school boys basketball games. I thought they would be two very close games. Thank God I didn’t choose a career in Vegas. With Munster @ Andrean, Munster started off 18-0 in the first and it didn’t get that much better. Munster ended up beating Andrean 52-33. East Chicago @ Bishop Noll was a much better game. It went to overtime and Bishop Noll won. 69-67.
I talked on the radio as I switched between games so as not confuse the audience. I also talked at the end to tell everyone the weather for the weekend and that the NBA All Star Weekend was this weekend. I stated who I think who was going to win the three point and dunk contests. Finally, I put on some music, turned out the lights in the studio, put on the alarm, and went home.
Josh is currnetly in his freshman year at Purdue University Northwest. He is from Highland, Indiana and he graduated form Highland HIghschool 2018. He is pursuing a degree in broadcasting and has been interning at WJOB since January of this year.
